Welcome to Fellowship Baptist Church!

Pastor - Terry L. Fortner

Worship Leader & Youth Pastor - Brandon LeQuieu

Greetings on behalf of Fellowship Baptist Church,

As I sit in my office, still listening to Christmas music (it is just 360 days until Christmas 2012), my mind reflects on 2011.  As we watched the ball drop in N.Y. City, Lisa & I had no idea what a new year would bring.  Our Lord worked in wondrous ways and in late February He brought us to Fellowship Baptist.  What a blessing this church body has been to us as a family.  Every time we come to Fellowship we have the opportunity to touch people and be touched by our brothers and sisters in Christ.  I love to preach and teach God's word and serve Christ with those who truly desire to change lives by the power of God's Word.  My children can serve Christ in an active & Spirit led youth group.  We are all constantly blessed by a praise band that leads us to Christ's throne to worship.  I am thankful for Fellowship!

We embark together on a new year.  It will be a year of many blessings and many challenges.  I will endeavor to lead us verse by verse through the book of Revelation.  What a journey it will be, and we will seek the promised blessing of Revelation 1:3, "Blesses is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and heed the things which are written in it; for the time is near."  There is no arguing the fact that with each day we live, we are on day closer to Christ's coming for His church!  We will take a group from Fellowship to Port Henry, New York on a mission trip in late July.  We will face every challenge of 2012 with a courage that only Jesus can supply.  I am reminded of a very comforting promise from scripture found in Joshua 1:9, "Have I not commanded you?  Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."  We've all experienced fear.  Joshua was afraid after Moses died and he was given the position of leadership for the Israelites.  But the Lord told him to be strong and of good courage and told him how to achieve that strength:

"Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go.  This book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it.  For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success." Joshua 1:7-8

The immediate response to fear or any other challenge we face should be the Word of God.  We need to fill our spirits and souls with the Word of God.  Rely on the Holy Spirit to fill us in 2012 and may we always feast on the living Word of God.  When we meditate on the Word of God and speak it out loud we will victoriously take the light of God into Satan's dark kingdom of this world.  Remember, the light of Christ always overcomes the dark fears of this world, John 1:5.

May the blessings abound in 2012!

In Christ,

Terry, Lisa,

Rachel, Joshua, & Rebecca
